building relationships

Great trout properties rarely come on the open market.  Our experience has taught us that the best long-term strategy is to develop good relationships with trout stream owners long-before they consider selling their property. By helping them manage their fishing assets, we are able to establish enduring bonds that help us earn the opportunity to be in the mix when a property is being considered for sale.

This is a very deliberate process and like making
a fine wine, it cannot be rushed.  At the Founders’ Stage of the Club development, we must have
partners who appreciate the careful and subtle
tactics that need to be employed to lay the
foundation for enduring success.  We will take our time and do it right from the very beginning.

As the Club grows, we will maintain enough
beats* to serve the anticipated membership
level and, as the opportunities present themselves, we plan to partner with landowners and members
to buy blue-ribbon trout streams

*A “Beat” is a section of stream that is large enough to support two anglers fishing for an entire eight-hour day.  It should be of sufficient capacity to have both anglers say at the end of every day, “Wow, this was great…let’s stay and fish a couple more hours.”  In our experience, a beat can be as long as one mile on a small tributary run or as short as a couple hundred yards on a large main stream.  Across a typical portfolio of large and small streams, we
calculate an average of three beats per mile.  Our trout water portfolio will offer a diverse mix from small and technically challenging to sprawling big waters.

By maintaining a ration of no more than five full members per beat, the Club will be able to ensure ready access to members and their guests at all times.
